I have a water damaged ASUS ROG G512LI, i found the blown capacitor that was shorted and i replaced it. The Laptop worked for 15 minutes and the capacitor blown again. I had to guess at the capacitor value, i wondering if there's any good way to determine or best guess it without schematics/boardviews (not available for this model). The capacitor is right next to a power supply by the LVDS and Battery connectors.

Check which rail it is, what connects to the line/ power rail, that will help to match a capacitors value.
