Laptop screen is squished.

Okay, I know that’s not a great way to describe it, but that’s what it looks like. My whole screen gets squished into the top centimeter of screen space, the rest of it is either black or has a frozen image of the last thing that was on it. I’ve tried lowering the frame rate to 60hz but it still isn’t working. My next task is to try to attach it to another screen. If anyone has some suggestions on what it could be (software, hardware, etc.) I would greatly appreciate it. I’m attaching a picture of it so you can have an idea of what I mean.

@Remazdo hi welcome,
Have you checked with another known good display? And try with external monitor. If you get same problem on external monitor then it could be problem with graphics,
